Chatting over LinkedIn

I am starting out on my social media journey. In so doing I have been carefully evaluating LinkedIn (and other forums) for what it can bring to our lives beyond just grandstanding our business performance and achievements.

So far, its most powerful attribute seems to be an opportunity for topic-based conversation, in the public eye, which allows our peers to see where we stand and gives everyone an equal opportunity to voice their own insight into the topic.

Powerful and potentially interesting. Requires bravery. Rewarding? I am not yet sure but let's see.

I just wrote this in a DM, to a new LinkedIn connection, but feel that perhaps these sentiments need to be shared more widely.
